TOURIST SPOT - CHATURGARH, PALI, DIST-KORBA, CHHATTISGARH

TOURIST SPOT
CHATURGARH – PALI, DITRICT – KORBA, CHHATTISGARH, INDIA
Chaturgarh is a tourist place, situated on mountain, about 3600 feet above sea level. It is in district Korba of Chhattisgarh state and it the highest peak of korba district. From Pali this place is about 30 km. Mostly people reach here by their own vehicles either by two wheeler or four wheeler. Two things are there to see from tourist point of view –
1.      Maa Mahisasur Mardani Mandir (Temple)
2.      Chaturgarh Mahamaya Tallab (Pond)
3.      Sankar Gufa (Den)
Importace of these two –
1.      Maa Mahisasur Mardani Mandir (Temple)
Its a protected monument. The monument has been declared to be of national importance under the Ancient monuments and Archaeological sites and Remains 1958 (24 of 1958). From parking place it is about 01 km, one have to come here by walk only.
2.      Chaturgarh Mahamaya Tallab (Pond)
Beside temple a big pond is there named as Mahamaya Talaab. The pond was made by Landlord of nearby village. Its a big pond. Tourists takes bath and rest here below the trees and they become active.
3.      Sankar Gufa (Den)
From Maa Mahisasur Mardani Mandir (Temple), sankar Gufa is about 03 km. One have to go here by walk only. Belief is there that Lord Shiva was inside the den while escaping from Bhasmasur for several days. Then Lord Vishnu helped Lord shiva by killing Bhasmasur and then Lord Shiva came out of the den. By knees one have to enter the den, at one time only two persons are allowed to enter because of narrow space.

Its a nice and peaceful tourist place away from city, away from pollution, away from noise.  Efforts has been made to give facilities to comfort to the tourists, its not enough, Government and the Committee of this temple have to do lot of things more to improve the place, so that one day it will come on map of india as a big touist place.
